Effective September 1, 2008:
In order to
encourage responsible attendance, the pricing and payment of flute lessons
has changed. In accordance with the policies of other music teachers in
the area, lesson tuition will now be determined monthly as follows:
Monthly
Tuition:
Half Hour
Students: $80
Hour Students:
$ 140
Monthly tuition is the same every month regardless as to how many weeks
are taught in that given month. Payment for lessons is made according to
how many weeks are taught in the entire teaching year minus expected
missed lessons due to holidays. Tuition is due by the first lesson of
each month.
* No lesson will be taught without payment. The tuition you pay
reserves your place for a weekly lesson.
* There is no reduction in tuition for missed lessons or tardiness
by the student. If a student must reschedule a lesson, please notify the
teacher before the first lesson of the month and we will find a make up
lesson time.
* Lessons missed due to teacher's absence will be either made up
at a mutually agreeable time, or a $20 credit will be applied toward the
next month's tuition if no mutually agreeable time can be reached. Please
call the studio if you are unsure as to whether lessons have been canceled
due to weather (i.e: Hurricane.)
* If you cannot make your appointment, please extend a courtesy
call to your teacher.
Schedule of
Holidays:
No lessons will
be taught during the following public school breaks:
Thanksgiving
break- Wednesday-Friday
Winter break
Spring Break
Practice
Time
Students are responsible for daily practice, timely attendance, and the
required lesson materials. To develop good work habits and
self-discipline, a regular practice time should be set aside each day.
Beginners are expected to practice every day in order to keep up with the
curriculum. Consistent attendance will aid in musical success; so, do not
skip a lesson because your child has not practiced or does not want to
come. Fluctuations in interest are perfectly normal and should not signal
an end to the musical training of your child. If you have any questions or
concerns, please consult your teacher before making any decisions about
lesson termination.
Lesson Time
Please meet your child promptly after their lesson using the left side of
the driveway. Please be on time as lessons are scheduled back to back
throughout the day.
Books & Materials
The most commonly used books may be available from Mrs. Bresette. I will
notify you of the cost of these books and the charges can be paid via
check at the students next lesson should you choose to purchase them from
me. Solo & Ensemble music and more advanced method books should be
purchased at a music store by the student.
Termination
Lessons can be terminated at any time by the teacher or student. If
lessons are terminated by the student, there are no refunds for paid
tuition.
As always,
please feel free to call or email Mrs. Bresette with any questions or
concerns about these policies, or your students musical development.
By beginning
flute lessons, the student and parent acknowledge and accept these
policies.
