It is most important to me that you enjoy music. Each of you is an individual. I understand that each of you has a different reason for playing the flute. Each of those reasons will be respected and embraced. With that in mind, I will still hold you to your fullest potential. I believe in playing every note with musicality, and in performing at every opportunity available to you. Furthermore, I believe that you cannot be a good flute player unless you are happy. In this respect, I will teach to the whole person, not just the flute player. I will never be unkind, but I will never give praise without reason. I will be open about my expectations, and we will work together in setting goals. Lastly, I will always listen to what you have to say, so please, speak up. |
